Week 15-16 (6/7-6/20)

My friend Karyn and I went to Weverse Park Day 2 at Olympic Park. We honestly slightly did regret not being able to secure Con Day 2 tickets because of the lineup, but I'd say Park Night was so much more worth it. There was open seating, places to eat, and we got to see And2ble and ZICO! Since we got VIP tickets, it was so nice being able to jump around and get hype. It was a little embarrassing though at times because a cameraman kept recording us jumping around while we weren't looking. ToT
On Thursday (6/11), I had my final exam for financial derivatives. Then Friday (6/12) was an event for sure..
Karyn and I had our corporate finance final in the morning, and right after we grabbed our luggage from our dorm and booked it straight to Seoul Station to catch our train to Busan through KTX. We grabbed lunch at the food court and walked down to the platforms about 15 minutes before departure. Platforms aren't usually assigned until 10-15 minute before arrival, and despite what an employee told us, our platform got changed at the very last minute. We sadly missed our train..
After speaking with an associate, our only last-minute option was to rush over to the Seoul Express Bus Terminal. We booked our emergency tickets through Klook, and upon reaching the the Express Bus Station we found out there was a mistake with our hotel arrangements after finally relaxing in a Starbucks nearby. After scurrying around we finally got that settled through Agoda and boarded our five hour bus ride to Busan!
Despite all the struggle, we finally made it! The hotel (No.25 Hotel) we stayed at was pretty nice! It was honestly better than our original arrangement and we got to stay an extra night. (: On Saturday (6/13), we got to see BTS for their debut anniversary!
TIPS:
Before heading down to the platforms at KTX in Seoul Station make sure to pay attention to you're assigned platform number on the TV's.
Always have a backup route!
Personally, I found it easier to use Kakao Map in Busan instead of NaverMaps.
Make sure to have a TMONEY CARD. Climate cards don't work in Busan!!!
Sunday, June 14 - Saturday, June 20
On our last day in Busan, Karyn and I explored for a bit. We initially didn't have a plan, but we decided to go to the Busan Art Museum and Jeonpo Cafe Street. Jeonpo Cafe Street, felt like a more chill version of Seongsu. It was nice not being in a crowded area for sure. We then found a cute Italian restaurant that had the best pizza! Sadly I don't remember the name...
After our stressful yet fun Busan weekend, we got our hair done together at VOG Hair in Hongdae. While booking our appointments on Instagram, we didn't realize that our appointments were actually at two different locations. Luckily, they were only a 5 minute walk apart. Just keep in mind when booking with them that the type of service determines which specific location you go to. Still, I highly recommend this place
On Tuesday (6/15), I had my last ceramics class. We all critiqued each other's pieces throughout the semester and talked about our overall experience in the course. It was so nice seeing everyone's work.
Throughout the week, I started packing and shipping some of my boxes to prepare for move-out day. Karyn and I also went to Hongdae to say goodbye and hand out gifts to some of the sweet people we met along the way. We checked out Table A in Hongdae (an animal cafe with a bunch of exotic animals!), ate Korean BBQ, chilled at an art cafe called Dohwaseoga in Ttukseom, and walked around Seokchon Lake in Jamsil, went to Seoul Tower, and got our certificates of completion!
I also highly recommend that art cafe! It's around $10 for 1–2 hours, and you get access to acrylic paints, oil pastels, colored pencils, and markers, and there are board games and a cozy spot to read comic books!
Finally, on Saturday, Karyn and I went to the RAPBEAT festival at Oil Tank Culture Park for my late birthday present! (:< t was such an incredible experience despite the rain. We had VIP tickets, so we were getting sprayed by water cannons while it was pouring rain. The event was around 10 hours long, packed with food vendors, photobooths, and merch stands. Honestly, I'm so glad we went to Day 1 instead of Day 2, because we would have been dying in the heat since it was hot the next day. I’d definitely go again!
