Week 13-14 (5/24-6/6)
Sunday, May 24 - Saturday, May 30
This week was pretty chill! Since I had some free time, I used my leftover ribbon to make lei as gifts for friends, professors, and the amazing people I met along the way who made this study abroad experience so memorable.
I also had to head back to Muji in Hongdae to replenish the snacks I sent for my family last month, specifically the beef jerky. I'm still confused on how the beef jerky "somehow" disappeared before the package being delivered home. Anyways, while out, I stumbled upon a cute pop-up filled with crochet kits! I grabbed some for my sister since she's always trying to find new hobbies to keep herself busy.
On Tuesday (5/26), I had my final clay work day for Korean Ceramics. We had to paint our porcelain from the previous week, which is honestly my least favorite art medium... but it's okay! I just rushed it and painted some leaves.
Throughout the week, Karyn and I checked out a couple of K-Pop pop-ups in Seongsu. First up was Seventeen’s Miniteen ice cream event, which was so cool! They built an entire themed cafe setup complete with an ice cream machine, tons of topping options, and custom cookies featuring the Miniteen characters. Afterwards, we grabbed dinner at a clay pot restaurant called Damsot. The food was insanely good and along with main dish, there were so many sides!
To end the week, we visited another K-Pop pop-up in Seongsu, this time for TxT, which had a super cute whole-apple theme! We also went to Blue Square Woori WON Banking Hall for another concert, AHOF's first tour!
Sunday, May 31 - Saturday June 6
This week was also another mix of studying and fun stuff.
At the beginning of the week to motivate myself to study, I went to my favorite cafe, Waffleitup! Aside from that, I was pretty much living at the library. It honestly wasn't too bad because there’s a convenience store and cafeteria on the basement floor. The only other times I left my study spot were to attend class. ToT
For ceramics it was glazing day. After relearning from my past mistakes, I think I applied a much better coat this time. I didn't realize you can just wipe off the lumps of glaze when it dries to make it a much smoother finish...
Finally, at the end of the week Karyn and I rewarded ourselves by going to another concert! This time we went to Weverse Con Day 1 (:<
It was definitely a confusing commute though. We didn't realize that Line 5 (the purple line) splits off into two directions. So we had to get off of Gangdong Station to take the Macheon bound train, and then it was two stops to Olympic Park. Aside from getting lost, it was fun seeing BOYNEXTDOOR despite all the screaming fans. That's why it's important to always have concert earplug. I like to use Loop Experience 2 Earplugs!
